Who doesn’t want to do that?  Most humans have an inbuilt desire to improve their own life and the lives of those they love, right? 

So how do we do that?  Robin Sharma says that we do it by investing in ourselves. 

Seems to me it’s kinda like love … and we all know that we can’t truly love anyone else until we first love ourself.  The more I learn and grow the more I realise that this is true for pretty much everything.  We can’t truly value others unless we first value ourself.  We can’t truly trust others unless we first trust ourself … and the list goes on and on.  

When you invest in YOU, others will too!

Are you investing in YOU? 

Recently when I asked this question on social media I received a vast variety of responses. 

Many admitted they weren’t investing in them. 

Let’s be clear here, when I say investing in YOU I’m talking more than self-care.  More than massages, nails and facials.  More than reading. 

I’m talking investing money in your future. 

In your personal development.  In growing YOU.  In your business. 

In receiving the professional support you need to be the leader your future self needs you to be.

If you want your dreams to come true …

you have to become the person of your dreams.   

If you want your business to grow …

you have to lead it there. 

I remember some years ago when I’d completed a program and finished receiving coaching from my coach.  I felt on top of everything.  Six foot tall and bullet-proof!   I could do anything.

 I thought I didn’t need any further support.  I was good to go.  My business was growing.  I was flourishing.  I decided I didn’t need to invest further in me.  Or my business. 

On reflection I realize I felt I’d invested enough and now I needed to just do the work.  Implement what I’d learned.  I decided I needed to make more money before I could spend more on me.  So, I chose to DIY my future growth. 

Several months later I wondered why my business wasn’t growing at the same rate as it had.  After all, I’d expected it would keep on growing even faster than it had when I was receiving coaching.  Truth is, it hadn’t.  The growth had slowed off.  Yet, I was doing all the work.  I was implementing what I’d learned from my coach. 

And I got curious about what had happened to my confidence.   I realised I’d been shoulding on myself.  And I’d been beating myself up because I wasn’t accomplishing as much as I had when I had a coach.  No one was encouraging me as my coach had.  No one was holding me accountable as my coach had.  No one was helping me see what was really going on inside of me, as my coach had. 

Have you ever decided you didn’t need help?  That you could do it all alone? 

Truth is with coaching you’ll accomplish so much more than you ever would on your own. 

Have you ever not invested in you cos you felt you couldn’t afford to?  Truth is you actually can’t afford not to. 

Since that experience, I committed to myself that I’d always have a coach.  That I’d always participate in a mastermind, a small intimate group of like-hearted women who champion me and believe in me when I don’t.  That I’d always invest in external accountability.
