Why is asking for help so jolly hard?

Why is asking for help so jolly hard?

For most of the women in business I speak to, life is often lonely. Really lonely. It’s not that they don’t have friends and family who love and support them. However, despite that, they feel lonely.

Certainly that has been my experience as well.

So why is that true?

Partly it’s because most people don’t get it. They don’t understand being in business. They can’t relate to where you’re at.

Most people, your friends and family included, don’t understand. The pressures you feel. The insurmountable mountain of to-do’s that wait for you to do them.

They don’t get it. They can’t get it. They can’t understand.

It’s not their fault. It’s not yours. It just is! And that’s what makes it feel really, really lonely, super-alone being in business.

My experience of that is that I felt like it was my problem. Like I was doing something wrong. Like there was something wrong with me. I often thought that the whole world knew whatever it was that I didn’t and for some reason unknown to me they were choosing not to share it with me.

Why did I think that? Cos they all had it together. They had everything under control. They had life sussed.

At least, that’s how it appeared.

The result was that not only did I feel lonely, but worse still I felt terribly alone.

And those two factors served to isolate me even further and resulted in me feeling even more lonely and even more alone. If my friends and family couldn’t understand then it must be my problem, right?

Has your experience been similar?

The truth is that when you’re a woman in business you need relationships, support and accountability with other women in business. You need a community to hold you ‘heart and hand’ so you can be who you want to be while you create the life and results you want.

I’m currently creating a community and a space where successful women business owners, who are tired of doing it all alone and who yearn for support, are held ‘heart and hand’ so they can be who they want to be while creating the life and results they seek.
