Life as I knew it was about to cease!

Life as I knew it was about to cease!

The beginning of the end was nigh.

Life as I knew it was about to cease!

My home was about to recommence its empty nesting cycle.

As I helped my daughter prepare and pack for her move to another town, little did I realise that two more of my children would also move towns during the next four months.

At that time I found it hard enough letting one go!

Motherhood requires us to be so super-resilient at times.

Don’t get me wrong here. I’m a firm believer that my primary job as a mother was to raise my children to be mature adults who take responsibility for themselves and contribute to the world in a positive way each and every day.

Needless to say, I’m super-proud of my four as they do just that and more.

That said, nothing could have prepared me for so many of them leaving town in such a short space of time.

Two of them were living with me right up to when they left. The third one had returned home for a few months prior to moving away.

I remember vividly having to rethink everything. I’d not lived alone for many years. There were many evenings when I just didn’t eat dinner. Somehow it didn’t seem worth cooking just for one.

Looking back, I realise I was reshaping my life so it fitted my new reality.

Even though we tailor make our life and business to fit us, as life changes so must we refit our life to fit our new normal!
