There's always more than one way to ...

do absolutely anything you ever want to do!

Yep, it’s so very true. And here’s a true story about just that.

I moved house almost 5 years ago. From a big garden to no garden. I found it really hard. I missed my garden, but I knew I’d create my very own garden. Truth is I was pretty excited about creating a new garden from scratch. I’d never done that before. I’d always remade someone else’s garden to be my version of their original garden. Now I had the opportunity to create it my way.

Not long after my move I was given a kaka-beak tree. It’s a New Zealand native and really beautiful as you can see from the photo. (yes that’s my very own tree in the photo). I planted it half way down the bank as
I planned to plant the whole bank out in native trees and just let them create their own patch of New Zealand native beauty for me to enjoy.

It seemed that nature had a different set of lessons for me to learn.

You see, at the back of my house is a bank, round 5 metres down to a creek.

And not long after I moved it rained. It rained and rained. And it kept raining. And it took a large chunk of my bank with it. Down to the bottom.

That sure messed up my plans.

No longer could I just plant it out in natives, dig some steps and create some tracks through my native bush.

I had to retain the bank. And that meant a whole heap of work. And it’s still a work in progress. At times the progress seems extremely slow.

Anyways, back to my kaka-beak since it’s the centre of my story. It kept growing. Beautifully. It wasn’t affected by the slip. It just grew happily minding its own business. And flowering gorgeously.

Here’s the thing. It became obvious that it just couldn’t stay where I’d planted it.

Me being me, I thought I’d just move it. Simple. And just in case that didn’t work out, I took some cuttings from it and potted them. And I removed some seeds from one of the seed pods on my kaka-beak and planted them.

The next week I visited my local plant propagation expert who delivered some disappointing news for me. She told me the cuttings almost certainly wouldn’t grow and probably my seeds wouldn’t either as I’d not done them correctly. Plus, the worst bit was that she told me the tree would not move. That really upset me.

Short-cut to now. The seeds haven’t grown. The tree couldn’t be moved. However, one of the cuttings I planted is growing. So exciting!

You may be wondering why I’m telling you this story and why I find it so exciting, right?

My point is that there is always more than one way to do everything.

Yes, there may be a recommended way that has a higher success rate.

But there is always more than one way to do it.

I’m a firm believer than in life and in business it’s vital that we find the best way for us to do whatever it is that we want to do.

Only then will it fully satisfy us.

Only then will it work out as it’s meant to be for us.

Often we require outside assistance to work out the best way to do something.

While my cutting is growing, it’s not the well-shaped baby tree that the new ones I purchased are. Although it’s growing it may never be the best tree it could be simply because I don’t know enough about plant propagation.

I needed some help from someone not emotionally tied to my tree to give me the best advice. And so I purchased some new kaka-beaks from her, cos she knew how to grow them better than me.

Truth is, when you’re emotionally involved in a situation it’s hard to choose the best way.
Why is that true?

Cos when you’re in the midst of something it’s hard to step back far enough to see what’s really happening.

Why is that?

You’re too involved.

Emotionally, you’re all involved in the situation.

And that’s when choosing the best way for you becomes difficult.

Asking for help is usually your best option.

That’s where I come in.

I help you see what you can’t see.

I help you take it and move it back so you can see it more clearly. Then you’re better able to choose which will be the best way for you and everyone else involved in your situation.

Right now I’ve opened up some space to offer complimentary calls with me where I’ll help you identify what your next best move is so you can make the best choice for you at this time. You’re welcome to claim one here.

P.S. There’s only a limited number of these available so make sure you book yours today!
