Your mess is your message!

Your mess is your message!

Maybe you’ve heard that before. The concept gets talked about a lot. I’ve heard it suggested more than once that we make our mess our message.

Truth is, even though I’ve heard it many times already, I feel like it’s only just starting to become a reality for me. To mean something. And I have to confess, I’m grappling with it.

What that’s meant for me is that over the past week or so I’ve been in a dark place rediscovering the lessons I learned from my mess. And learning some new ones as well. Cos there’s always new lessons to learn and apply in life, right?

But I didn’t want to go into that dark place again.

I thought, and hoped, I was past that mess. That I didn’t have to look at it again. That part of my life was history. In the past.

Yeah, right. Apparently, I was totally wrong about that.

What am I really saying here? Yep, you have a right to ask, especially if you’re still reading this.
Here’s the thing. I’m not up to sharing what I’ve been going through yet.
What I will share is what I’ve learned from it.

Just because you’ve been through a particular situation once and learned profound lessons through it, grown amazingly and flourished, DOES NOT MEAN YOU WON’T BE CALLED TO LEARN AT A DEEPER LEVEL THROUGH A VERY SIMILAR SITUATION AT ANOTHER TIME IN YOUR LIFE.

The concept blew me away to be totally honest.

I’d been strolling through life with a ‘been there got the T-shirt’ kind of attitude thinking I’d never find myself in a similar situation.

What a curve ball that was when reality hit me!

Where am I at now? I’m coming up for air.

I’m out of the deep dark hole, ready to accept the many lessons I can learn from this situation so that I can serve others going through similar stuff in their lives.
