Are you a prisoner to perfectionism?

Are you a prisoner to perfectionism?

Do you suffer from perfection paralysis?

I did. For a very long time. Many years in fact.

I thought I had to be really, really good before anyone would want to hire me as their coach.

I thought whatever I offered had to be perfect.

Here’s the thing. It didn’t serve me at all well.

It stopped me. It thwarted me. It stalled my progress. It delayed me. It stonewalled me.

The truth is you can’t make progress by trying to make it all perfect.

What is perfect anyway? Who knows! Really who defines what is perfect?

That’s right. There is really no such thing as perfect. Not permanently anyways. You see, the one thing that’s always consistent in our lives is change. Therefore, what may appear perfect today, will certainly not be perfect tomorrow or next week or next month or next year.

So striving for perfection in our business prior to offering our products or services is pure folly. Ridiculously so.

And yet, many of us get caught in the trap of our desire for perfectionism. To put our very best product or service out there. When, of course, whatever we offer will be just right for those it’s intended to serve.

Truth is you can’t make money in your business by keeping yourself locked away getting ready, getting perfect. Paralysed by your desire to be perfect.

That desire for perfection traps your progress and deems you unable to move forward.

How do you change that? By deciding to.

By deciding to take action.

By deciding to move forward.

Which way is forward?

Forward is taking any action that points in the direction of your goal.

Even a baby step is enough.

Just get it done.

Cos the truth is, done is better than perfect!
