What does it really mean?
“Just as your car runs more smoothly
and requires less energy to go faster and farther
when the wheels are in perfect alignment,
you perform better when your thoughts, feelings, emotions, goals and values are in alignment.”
What does alignment really mean?
And why is it so important?
I used to think those thoughts, truly I did.
What I’ve come to know to be true is that when we’re not in alignment everything is harder than it needs to be. And nothing works out as well as we’d hoped it would; just like the car that Brian talks about.
So why is alignment so important?
And what is it?
Those are big questions … here’s my quick answer.
When you’re out of alignment it’s like you’re walking around with a crick in your back. If you’ve ever had a sore back or put your back out you’ll know what I’m talking about. Walking is hard. You end up with a headache by the end of the day, if not sooner. Everything seems so difficult. You feel dragged down.
In contrast when your values, your vision, your mission and your goals are all in alignment it’s like you’re moving easily and smoothly through your days. Everything seems lighter. You feel more joy and contentment.
So, how’s your back?
Seriously, when things are not going as smoothly in your life or business as you’d like, take some time to reflect and check in on how aligned you are.
It truly will be time well spent.
Need help straightening your back … oops, err, I mean getting everything aligned? Give me a shout.
