Here’s how …
It’s a creative strategy in which you use four specific thinking styles in turn.
The Disney way involves parallel thinking to analyse a problem, generate ideas, evaluate ideas, construct and critique a plan of action.
The four thinking styles are – outsiders, dreamers, realisers and critics.
Firstly, you think as an outsider to gain an analytical, external view of the challenge.
Next, you become a dreamer who brainstorms ideal solutions; this is where you conceive creative and radical ideas.
Then you adopt a realiser viewpoint. Here you act as a pragmatic realist and use convergent thinking to review the ideas left by the dreamers. Your mission here is to select the most appropriate idea and create a plan for it.
Next up, you become a critic who reviews the plan made by the realists to identify weaknesses, obstacles or risks. From your review process, you discover how to improve the plan.
Finally, it’s the action stage.
One step at a time. Preparation is key.
The you in this process can be you alone, you and me playing together, or you and whoever you choose. It’s up to you honey xx
