Creating vision boards that work!

Have you created vision boards in the past?

Many of us have.  I had and I’d had varying degrees of success at manifesting whatever I’d chosen to place on them.  Some things would come into my life.  Others seemed farther away than ever.  And yet, my vision boards motivated me, they inspired me, they brought me into the feelings I wanted to feel when I’d achieved all my goals so I kept creating them.

Finally, I realised it wasn’t just a bunch of pretty pictures on a piece of paper.  There was oh so much more to creating a vision board that attracts magic into your life.

Secrets I’ve learned along the way to creating a vision board are:

  1. It’s absolutely essential you ensure your goals and intentions are closely aligned with your values, your vision and your mission for your life and your business before you create your vision board. The more aligned they are the more likely you are to accomplish them.
  2. Check that you have goals and intentions for all areas of your life. As humans we are four dimensional.  We all have a mind, a body, a heart and a spirit.  For our life to feel balanced and for us to feel satisfied we need to be directing attention to all four dimensions of us.  Immerse yourself in the feelings you aspire to feel in your dream life so that you set soul intentions for each dimension of your vision board focusing in on what you truly want in all areas of you.
  3. Create a list of what is covered in each area for you. This list will be slightly different for everyone as what you choose to focus on reflects what’s important to you in each dimension.
    • Mind = Mental – includes career, finance, fame, reputation, recognition, knowledge, wealth and prosperity
    • Body = Physical – covers health, well-being, fitness, recreation, home and environment
    • Heart = Emotional – includes relationships, romance, friends, family, spouses, helpful people, travel, community, self-love, love and marriage
    • Spirit = Spiritual – covers spirituality, religion, personal growth, wisdom, intuition, meditation, creativity, gratitude
  4. Spend time feeling into each area identifying how you want to feel when you’ve achieved your goals and intentions in that area. Make some notes accordingly as you sit in the juiciness of your dream future.
  5. Search for pictures and words that relate to your goals, intentions and the feelings you desire to feel for each area. You get to choose whether you create your vision board physically with paper and glue or online and on your device; there is no right or wrong.
  6. Arrange them and attach them. Dividing your large piece of paper evenly into the four quadrants, or as many as you choose, ensures that your vision board is as balanced as you are in your humanness.  What I’ve come to realise is that in the past I’ve found images and words that were aligned with what I wanted to create.  Yes, they were beautiful and inspiring, and yet the completed vision boards weren’t at all balanced to cover all aspects of me.  They had gaps, dimensions that I’d not given any intention to.
  7. Display your vision board where you’ll see it every day. Personally, I love seeing mine.  It draws me into it and I feel the feelings I aspire to feel as though I’ve already achieved my goals and intentions.  It is, for me, a pretty magical feeling.
  8. Above all, have fun creating your vision board. Your vision board has the potential to support you, inspire you and pull you into the delicious feelings of accomplishment with a mere glance.  It directs your attention and your intention toward your desired destination.  Your vision board reflects your dream life, your dream day and your future vision.

Your vision board is another tool to strengthen your resolve and keep you on track so you avoid being side-tracked and taking on tasks or projects that don’t fit your vision.

Part of the magic of your vision board is that it effortlessly connects you to your dreams and reinforces your commitment to you every time you cast your eyes on it.  Even a cursory look at it in the middle of your busyness has the potential to spark your enthusiasm.

Take time for this.  Give yourself permission to spend time creating your very own vision board.
