Strategic Marketing versus Tactical Marketing

Does your business have a strategic marketing plan?

Whenever I ask a business owner about their marketing plan I always get the same kind of answers:

“I’d send an email”
“I’d make some phone calls”
“I’d put an ad in the newspaper”
“I’d deliver some flyers” etc, etc.

These may well all be great activities to engage in.

However, with no strategy behind these tactics they are just “spray and pray” marketing. Put it out there and see what happens.

Not many business owners realise there is a better way of marketing their business.

A chiropractor once spend a whole weekend with his staff and a recording crew making radio ads for his practice.  He spent $10,000 over a few weeks of advertising …
His phone only rang 15 times
And those ads resulted in just ONE new patient for him with a revenue of $1,900.
Imagine that….he spent $8,100 that he will never get back.

When we rewrote his ad for him….
And he spent only $1,300 on advertising
He received 137 calls
Closed 37 of those calls into brand new paying patients….each worth an average of $2,500.
His Result…..he spent $1,300 and earned $92,500.
