Many small business owners I talk to work huge, long hours. They work really, really hard. They work even harder when their staff take holidays. And they don’t get to take holidays themselves. Often they work for many years with no time off.
Is this you? Or, do you know anyone like that? Is your tank running on empty? It’s really sad, cos they get so tired and stressed and then nothing happens easily. They don’t get to have fun. Everything seems so much harder when you’re tired and stressed, right? They don’t get time for them, they don’t get time for their family, their kids, their friends. Let alone their hobbies and interests. It can feel like your tank is running on empty! You live, eat and breathe your business and your work. And you know what? That is not why they went into business. Hey, they actually had more time off and more holidays when they were working for a boss. The truth is, these people don’t have a business. They have a job. A job with a really hard taskmaster as a boss. Yep, them. They are their own worst boss. They are really, really hard on themselves and never, or hardly ever take time off. They desperately long to be able to take time off from their business. But they’ve don’t know how to make that work without help. They’re in it way too deep and they can’t see the wood for the trees. Why am I telling you all this? Because I feel really sad when I see business owners working themselves to a frazzle in their business. There is a way out. You don’t have to do it alone. Help is available. With support and help you will be able to see the wood for the trees and learn how to grow your business in a way that enables you to take time off for you. Anything is possible, with the right help and support! WANT TO USE THIS ARTICLE IN YOUR E-ZINE, BLOG OR WEBSITE? first published on www.growthbusiness.co.nz 31 July 2015
