How focusing on the bigger picture helps me overcome my personal struggle

I’ll happily admit it. I’d always been a very private person.

Never wanted to put myself out there.
Not wanted to share anything personal.
Always shied away from the limelight.

What I’ve discovered along the way is that I can’t hide.

If I truly want to make a difference in the world. I can’t hide.
If I truly want to serve and support others. I can’t hide.
If I truly want to contribute to the world in positive and meaningful ways. I can’t hide.

Ouch! That hurt! That realisation that I’d have to break down the barriers. That I’d have to make myself vulnerable. It hurt.

Over the years, I’d built a protective shell round myself.
A barricade between me and the world.
To keep me safe.
To protect me.

Through a lifetime of longing to fit in somewhere, anywhere, I’d created my own safe place where no one could reach me.

The truth is that from there I was unable to effectively reach people to guide them as they create a life and business that truly fits their uniqueness.

Nowadays when the stalker, the predator, the harasser, the bully decides to throw some more ammunition my way … I realise that the universe is preparing me to expand my impact and reach even bigger.

To stretch me.
Almost as though the universe is saying,
“Come on now are you seriously ready for this next step? Are you willing to let your light shine brighter?”.

That’s why when the attacks come I focus on the bigger picture, my mission to serve and support women. Cos, for sure, my answer to the universe is a great big “YES!!!”

Doesn’t mean I don’t feel scared.
Doesn’t mean I don’t feel raw and vulnerable.

What it does mean is that I choose for my focus on the bigger picture to be more important than how I feel at that moment.

It all comes down to my choosing to lead myself and decide where I will place my focus.

Where are you choosing to lead YOU?

Where are you deciding to place your focus?
